Map out your dream life
What does your dream life really look like? Do you dream of starting each morning with your favorite yoga class? Do you want to take one month off every year to travel? Are you an accountant, but dream of writing? How do you want to spend your life-minutes? Or as Danielle LaPorte would say, “How do you want to feel?” I know for me it was really hard to even imagine being an author. No one in my family was artistic. No one in my immediate family was an entrepreneur, so even allowing myself to think it was possible was hard for me. Sit down and journal. Be honest with yourself. How do you want to live your one sweet life? Everyone has very different processes for visualizing their dreams or setting goals. Maybe you like to get a massive 12-month dry erase calendar to help you set goals. Maybe you want to do a vision board, or maybe you just want to spend an afternoon with your journal and a nice glass of wine. Whatever process you choose, make sure it feels good to you. You are considering this new path so that you can have more freedom and fun in your life. Make sure you aren’t just planning for book deals, more Instagram followers or bigger profits. Plan for joy.

2. Cultivate a successful mindset

Most people think success happens because of hard work, grit, luck, strategies, connections or a viral social media campaign. While those things can certainly help, success is 90% possible because of your mindset.

Think of what feels impossible to you right now. Does quitting your job feel impossible? Does making 6-figures doing something you love feel impossible? What do you really desire, but the worry isn’t “realistic”? Envision your desire. Hold a space for it.

For me, I'd always dreamed of being financially free. The truth was for many years I was in a scarcity mindset. I was scared to spend money. I stayed in jobs I didn’t love, because I was scared to leave the consistent income. I thought my actions were responsible. I thought they  would lead me closer to my goal, but it was quite the opposite. Fear kept me stuck. However, over the years, after trial and error, and meeting some truly life-changing mentors, I began to manifest a healthy money mindset. I started small. I started with picking up extra change and saving it.  I started keeping a gratitude list so that I was aware of the abundance that surrounded me. When I would make a big investment in myself, or pay a bill, I would repeat a mantra like, “There is more where that comes from.” There is a lot of power in the words we say to ourselves. As you venture off on your next life adventure keep that in mind. What words and mindset can you embrace to make your impossible possible?

3. Start freelancing on nights and weekends

Do you want to be a health coach, fashion designer, real estate investor or software developer?  Start a side hustle. Make a list of your friends or family you think might need or benefit from your services. Send them an email letting them know about your plans and business. Do your research. Find two or three ways you can be of service. Get them on the phone and propose how you can help. (REMEMBER! It isn’t just about making money. It is about helping people.)  As you work with your first clients you will learn about their pains and struggles. You will learn what service and offering they really need and you will quickly build your list of clients in the process.

4. Join a Sisterhood
Women often think to be successful they have to be masculine. Women think they have to push hard, get results and do it alone. This is a recipe for burn out. The truth is we can be successful and feminine. We can be creative, intuitive and connected to our emotions and still make the income and impact we desire. Yet, we still have a tendency to start isolating and depriving ourselves when we are going through a transition in our life. In reality, when we are going through a significant change we actually need more self-care and sisterhood. In those moments of excitement, uncertainty, long work hours and growth, we need more long walks, bubble baths, talks with girlfriends, massages, and yoga. So as you are thinking of your next move, make sure you step up your self-care routine. Surround yourself with sisters and lady bosses that can support and celebrate you.

Achieve A Happy And Healthy Lifestyle With These 10-Months To A Better You Challenges

By lizzieleecruz

Instead of making several promises and new year's resolutions at a time, make it easy on yourself. To achieve a happy, sustainable and healthy lifestyle, why not focus on just one resolution to work on each month? Here are some suggestions you can try;

Month 1: Rest, relax, play.

Start the year right by focusing on yourself. Reserve time for reviving a favorite hobby or learning a new one. Hobbies unleash your creativity and relieve your stress. Your hobby might even bring you extra cash if you're really good at it. You can check out online resources for money-making ideas or home-based businesses.

Month 2: Give up a bad habit

Resolve to give up one bad habit this month. Every day, do one thing to ease the discomfort of dropping a destructive habit. Addicted to soda? Give up your lunchtime soda habit first and then move on to your dinnertime soda.

Month 3: Leave the office on time

The spring break will help you enforce this resolution. Leave work early enough so you can spend more time with yourself or your family. Remember, there will always be things to do at work no matter how often you work overtime.

Month 4: Get moving

You can pay for a weight-loss-program or you can burn calories in a more cost-friendly way. Here's how: Walk, climb, run. Get off at the next taxi stop rather than the one right in front of your office building. Take the stairs. Instead of watching TV after dinner, get a walk or run around the block.

Month 5: Go green

The world celebrates World Environment day every 5th of June. Do your share even in a small way. Segregate waste, recycle papers and bottles, and save earth's limited sources. Definitely a perfect way to have a sustainable and healthy lifestyle.

Month 6: Eat healthy

Good nutrition means eating healthy foods. Make sure to come up with a healthy diet plan that associates healthy eating groups such as vegetables, healthy protein, healthy oils, plenty of fluids, fruits and whole grains. Minimize eating processed foods and you should have fresh foods served every day.

Month 7: Save money
Set this month for a budget review. If you've been living from payday to payday, start saving now. Put aside a small amount a day and save them each month. Better yet, apply a banking service that automatically transfers money from your salary account to your savings account.

Month 8: Control your temper

Work on controlling your temper and being more patient in times of arguments or circumstances. Identify and remove your triggers. To effectively manage your temper, take time to think before saying anything, express your emotion in a no confrontational way, spend some time to do enjoyable things, give yourself a break and most importantly, work on resolving the problem instead of focusing on the problem.

Month 9: De-clutter

Anticipate the deluge of new stuff and clothes during payday or holidays by freeing closet space. Get huge boxes for items to throw, fix, sell or donate. A more orderly household equals greater efficiency and less stress.

Month 10: Celebrate life and appreciate what you have

Celebrate life and have fun doing enjoyable activities with your loved ones. Focus on the positive and set aside the negative ones. Always have something to look forward to everyday and appreciate all the blessings in your life.

Moreover, the key to a happy and healthy lifestyle is about making step by step changes in your diet, daily activities and mindset.

ALIGN YOUR BRAND WITH SUCCESS AND STAY FOCUSED ON YOUR GOALS

Something absolutely AMAZING happens when you focus and become clear on your goals.
You say NO to what doesn’t align and yes to what does. This includes trusting your intuition, the first time.
Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively about what works, could and doesn’t, is improved greatly.
You do it for the cause, not applause.
You prioritize your mental health and well-being because you know for a fact separating what you battle personally, from how you show up professionally is unrealistic (balance what!?).
You can actually show up for yourself and for others when your strength permits. When it doesn’t you work on filling YOUR OWN cup.
You stay in your lane.
You stand firm on the belief that other people’s business is not your own, and therefore isn’t yours to tell.
You are as sensitive about and protective of your energy, as you are with your money.
You value other people’s resources and time because you recognize the value of your own.
You know sitting on your ass is equivalent to moving backward, so you push through fear, doubt, and procrastination.
You realize your time on this earth is to be used as a vessel to help improve the lives of others. Not just your own.
All of the above is courtesy of becoming clear with my focus. Moving gracefully from my heart with intention. Which brings me to the point of this blog post.
If you’re familiar with my blog, you may have noticed I cleaned it up a lot, to reflect my ongoing events, the amazing brands and Goal Digging Women I’ve grown (and am still growing) with. High-value areas. Sidenote: four years in and I’m still SO humbled to know you ladies care about what I say, do and share via this dope network :).
Here is how I did it.
I underwent the stressful process of being real with myself: evaluating the areas that simply did not work, didn’t align, weren’t making money or helping me/others grow. A step further, getting clear on my goals (intention over attention) took outlining what I do, why, and how and being able to describe this in less than 60 seconds. I came up with this:
“As a result of what I do, I help brands and individuals alike share dynamic spaces that offers life-enhancing opportunities.”
This, in turn, helped me get clear on my niche market/target audience:
“My community is for the goal-oriented individual looking to incorporate systems that improve their foundation, process, and flow. “
So what it boils down to is this. I’m a professional planner who creates conscious communities on and offline. And in literal terms, an event planner. A damn good one.
Events are a great way to create authentic experiences between a brand/group and individuals. Through the creation of my blog, connecting with women walking my walk (to some extent) and working with all size brands/specialists in different industries, I’ve become SO good at bridging the two worlds.
This area of focus pushed me to excel at marketing and branding, growing a blog, climbing the entrepreneurial latter, event planning, and even self-care.
As a result, SO many individuals and brands witnessing the quality of the work I produce and the stories I’ve shared, have asked me for support with their own growth on some level. Be it personal or professional. For years I said yes. Another opportunity to help another brand, and create a new revenue stream? Sign me up!
What ended up happening was my focus was unclear and pointed in so many different directions. My progress was stagnant to some extent because I wasn’t clear about what I was working towards. I was just going through the motions and making other people’s ideas and desires my own.
This helped me realize the significance of knowing what I DONT want. I may not have been clear on what I did want, but eliminating areas I knew for certain were not for me seemed like a step in the right direction.
So a moment of focus driven honesty:
I am great at social media marketing but am not a social media consultant.
I am in tune with understanding behaviors (psychology major), but I am not a certified therapist.
I am great at building websites, but I am not a web designer.
I am great at graphic creations, but I am not a graphic designer.
I am good at pitching and getting media coverage, but I am not a publicist.
I AM a professional planner.
Call it an aha moment or just lesson after lesson finally learned. A series of events (both painful and empowering) opened my eyes to what’s always been in front of me:
My ability to help brands and individuals alike share dynamic spaces that offer life-enhancing opportunities.
This is what God blessed me with. This is what I am great at. Not just good, OK or average. I am a professional. I am wonderful at planning all the way to the end.
Through my own entrepreneurial journey mixed with not having enough money to afford to hire professionals, I became good at all of the “I am not..” listed above.
“A Creative Jill of Many Trades” was something I once coined myself as. That and a serial entrepreneur.  Yes, “Jill” used all of the above as side hustles after being asked for help by others, but what it really boiled down to was lack of focus. And a Jill who became exhausted from doing way too much.
This realization started with me being transparent with myself. I thought “OK Carmen what is it your good at, can do with ease and comfort?”
Turns out, I’m really talented and am good at a lot, but only a few things made my heart feel whole. The passion work that I really truly enjoyed was bringing people together to help them grow. So I set my focus.
Now in addition to setting the intention for what myself and anyone (individual or brand) could expect from me moving forward, I thought of a few ways I could still be of assistance to others, without negatively impacting my focus.
For everyday women (what I refer to as “Goal Diggers”) or brand in Connecticut or surrounding states who offer a product or service, I offer my life-enhancing events where you can participate as an attendee or vendor. The same for my Goal Digging Women virtual club for those who are looking for an academy that offers support for entrepreneurial development.
OK so here is how I got more clear on my focus which is similar to the system I created and use for planning and executing events:
On a sheet of paper make four columns.
Write “I offer” in column one then yes, no, and so-so on the top row of each remaining columns.
Now write out what it is you offer under the “I offer” column. List all of what you do and all of what you currently and are considering offering.
Add a check mark under yes if you’re great at it, no if you aren’t, and so-so if you’re mediocre. *Great being a professional, who can execute seemingly effortlessly. You know the ins and our and can produce results.
Be honest with yourself and your answers. The only person you will cheat here is yourself.
Anything marked no, you should not be offering as a service to others. So-so is grouped in the same as no unless you work with professionals that you outsource the areas you can’t handle.
Anything marked “yes” is a no-brainer. You should be doing this.
For the “yes” and “so-so” (WITH outsource partners established, otherwise mediocrity doesn’t qualify) the next step is to weigh how good is your process? Have you actually created a system that makes process and flows a breeze? If not…you probably shouldn’t be offering whatever it is until you get this part fine-tuned.
Once it’s fine-tuned, it’s time to work on streamlining your process. Here is how I do it in four phases:
Planning phase.
Launching phase.
Marketing phase.
Retention phase.
It’s the system used to re-build my member’s club (because the first time is was so-so), grew and continue to grow my blog, plan events, etc.
I spent the most, honestly too much, time in the planning phase. It is literally the most significant of any other phase of launching, marketing and retention are impacted by how well you structure this foundational level. Here you will define steps a through z of what it is you offer, and create established systems for each. One of my favorite parts of the planning phase is I can quickly rule out any requests for partnership or collaboration if the proposed bottom line does not align with the system set in this phase.
Then onto launching. Now focus your attention on how you will actually offer the product or service, and to whom. In this phase, you will outline when and how you will officially present this offering to the world and moving forward which brings us to the next phase.
Marketing. So you offer this amazing product or service but you have no clue how to reach people who will utilize it. In the marketing phase, you work on your niche market and how you will connect and engage with them. Choosing and perfecting what channels work for you and eliminating what doesn’t.
Followed by retention. How are you going to keep your customers and audience as loyal supporters and also how will you keep them satisfied? This part is SO SO  important. This phase requires factoring in the process and potentiometer outcomes for when things go wrong because I guarantee something will.
Now after you have taken the time to dive into all of the four phases, you can officially move on to offering your magic to those who will love and appreciate all of what you’ve built. You have planned so well in advance and all the way to the end, you can move freely and fiercely through your day-to-day operations.
That’s how I did it. That’s how I’m doing it. This is what works and allows me to focus on my bottom line while staying aligned with my focus and goals.
I know some people are thinking I just basically gave away all of my secrets. Well yes, I gave away some of my outlines. That’s what this network is all about: sharing and development. The fine details are really the guts of the system. And what I focus shading in my Goal Digging Women community.
Though hopefully this alone is more than enough to get you going :).

VISUALIZE YOUR GOALS BY USING POST-ITS

I love goal setting, do you? I’ve found that mapping out my goals is therapeutic and let’s me put into writing what I want for myself both professionally and personally. The problem is I’m also a little gun-shy when it comes to writing things down; I have a hard time visualizing my goals in a notebook, journal or even worse, online note-taking. I get a little overwhelmed at the blank page, get frustrated when my goals are totally out of order and end up ripping the page out only to start the tiring process over again.
Are you like me, in that, when it comes time to write your goals you struggle? You have goals in your head, you can almost see the big picture, but you get distracted, overwhelmed and end up not finishing what you started? I can’t imagine I am alone in this!
My friend Katherine is working on her thesis and in order to visually understand how things correlate, she uses post-it notes and sticks them up on the wall. By the end of it, she has this wall full of written words (which kinda reminds me of FBI profiles of the mafia!). I decided to take this idea and make it work for me on a day I dedicated to explicitly writing goals. I gathered up my colorful post-its, gold sharpie and pretty washy tape and went to work.
First, I started with a row of overall, over-arching goals. Big ideas that I wanted to explore. They were things like:
  • Increase overall revenue
  • Become an industry expert
  • Grow Caribbean brand
  • Continued team happiness at Jubilee Events
  • Less weddings + more consulting
Once I had written out those items and taped them up to the wall, I was ready to begin to break my various projects / businesses down. I placed them in order that they make me money– because honestly– my first goal was to increase revenue, so it made sense to start with the biggest money maker and work my way down to the project that makes the least money (that project might surprise you!).
After I broke my projects down in order of revenue, I began to carve out goals for each. As an example, the third project that makes me the most revenue is my consulting (aka the new candicecoppola.com). The first goal was to LAUNCH, which was the most important thing I needed to do in order to take that first step of make my goal to become an industry expert happen. After I wrote that goal, I wrote mini goals / action steps next to it, each on their own individual post-it.
  • Finish verbiage for website (with mini goals written underneath)
  • Design packaged PDFs to send to prospective clients
After my LAUNCH goal, my next goal was to CREATE FINANCIAL PROJECTIONS based on the packages of consulting I offer. I broke my consulting packages down by price, and during this time I also brainstormed some new services. I continued and expounded upon topics BUILD REPUTATION & EXPOSURE, BOOK 10 CLIENTS YEARLY, BUILD PRODUCT LINE AND INDUSTRY EXPERT. With these clearly defined goals and action steps, I was so much closer to achieving what I wanted.
Some of the benefits for this goal-setting method are:
  • The ability to see your goals in a larger than life setting. Why be limited to a small sheet of paper or a word document on your computer– when you can look across the expanse of an entire wall and see your plans for the future?
  • The ability to edit your goals. I loved that I could take something down if it didn’t fit, or move around my goals based on their priority. As I mentioned earlier, I have a hard time organizing my goals on a few slips of paper (I hate when things don’t flow or are out of order!), so this method really worked for me.
  • The ability to sit with your ideas and really think about them. I found this method gave me the opportunity to take a long, hard look at what I wanted. I actually got excited about each post-it I put up on the wall.
  • The ability to keep them hanging. I transferred these to a notebook I keep on my desk, but would like to rehang them on my office wall for a constant, visual reminder of what I want to achieve.
How do you put your personal and professional goals together? Have you used this method before? I’d love to hear what works for you!

HABITS FOR SUCCESS + ACCOMPLISHING YOUR GOALS

Habits for Success

Ever feel like there just aren’t enough hours in the day? I know the feeling.
There always seems to be so much to do, so much to accomplish.
However, you choose to define success, whatever it is that you hope to achieve or complete- it most likely isn’t going to happen overnight.
It happens every day.
It happens when you stop using excuses.
It happens when you take small steps.
It happens when you grow and work on self-improvement on daily basis.
It happens when you don’t let small (or big) setbacks discourage you and bring you down.
Whatever it is that you’re after, start now. It doesn’t matter where you are; now is the best time to start.

Why?
Because you can’t let being where you are right now, stop you from getting where you want to be.

RISE EARLY

If you want to develop a productive routine for your day, you need to make the most of your mornings. Getting an early start to your day means that you are setting up your intentions for the day to come; you won’t be in a rush and you won’t feel stressed, knowing that you are on time and on schedule. You will have more time to plan out your day, organize yourself and check your to-do list. Have something to look forward to every morning- that will make it easier for you to get out of bed (you can also try the 5-4-3-2-1 method).

MORNING RITUALS

Having a healthy morning ritual is something that I talk about often in these types of posts, but that’s because it’s something that has made a HUGE difference for me in how I handle stress and my day-to-day tasks. Every morning, as I get up early, I drink my green tea, I write in my journal, I set my intentions for the day and I tell myself that “today is going to be an amazing day.” This means that I [almost] always start the day on a positive note and that just sets my mood for the day.
I’ll be honest and say that I wasn’t always a morning person. My mornings often felt rushed and disorganized.
My mornings were… messy.
I mean, I remember once driving to work and being in such a rush that I forgot to put my shoes on and left the house wearing slippers (true story, by the way). When I started doing things like practicing gratitude daily, writing in a journal, it felt a bit…. sill. I’ll admit it. Today, I can’t imagine my life without those things.
Create a morning ritual for yourself that will help you feel positive and inspired, every day. And no, I don’t mean scrolling through Pinterest in search of inspirational quotes. Quite the opposite, in fact. Don’t reach for your phone and start checking your emails or Twitter feed, first thing in the morning. Instead, try practicing some mindfulness, be present. A mindful living will help you be more productive as it improves your focus, and that, in turn, will get you closer to reaching your goals.

ESTABLISH A ROUTINE + KEEP A SCHEDULE

By prioritizing certain aspects of your life and creating a routine, you’ll get things done in a stress-free environment. Not every person is the same, so my ideal routine might be a lot different from yours. The point is: creating a routine is crucial. I get asked all the time how do I manage to work full-time and run this blog. The key is establishing a good routine. By coming up with a routine you’re setting yourself up for success- you work on your goals during the same time each day and as you get used to this practice, you will accomplish your goals faster. You won’t have to “find” time to do what’s important- as you create your routine, that time will be there.
Having a goal-routine also makes it easier to stay disciplined and it definitely makes it a bit more painless. If you think about it, discipline is the only thing you really need if you want to accomplish your goals. There will be days when your motivation and inspiration will start to die down, and you will feel like quitting. It’s much easier to say “oh, I’ll just take a little break today and tomorrow” or “I’m too tired” than it is to keep going. This is why it’s so important to have self-discipline. Being disciplined means that sometimes you need delay your gratification. It also means that you have to do things you don’t feel like doing sometimes. It means being uncomfortable at times. Occasionally, it means missing out on things.
Staying disciplined also requires a lot of focus and I, unfortunately, get distracted very easily. I realize that it’s a problem for a lot of us these days. I mean, we’re constantly being fed with information and there seem to be so many new things we want to know and learn- it’s nearly impossible to focus on a single task. This is why I schedule everything- and I mean everything– as far as my work and personal goals are concerned. I time-block and stick to my schedule- that’s how I keep myself in check.

MINIMIZE DISTRACTIONS

You might think you’re good at multitasking, but you’re probably not (sorry). Researchers at Stanford University found that those of us who regularly use several streams of electronic information cannot control our memory, pay attention or switch from one job to another, as well as those who work on one task at a time. You might think that you’re getting a lot more done by multitasking, but chances are you’re not as efficient as when focusing only on one thing. I also noticed that when trying to multitask at work (especially in an office environment) I waste time doing things like proofreading, double-checking my work and confirming that I actually did what I was supposed to. It’s like working on an important project while also helping out a co-worker and talking to a client on the phone. When doing three things at once, you cannot give any of them 100% of your attention.
Here’s something to remember: being busy, and being productive are two different things. Setting up boundaries- especially when it comes to your workplace, is important. When working on something important, communicate with your colleagues. Let them know you’re on a deadline and you’ll be less likely to be disturbed. Minimizing noise and digital distractions will also help you stay focused.

SET DAILY GOALS

It doesn’t have to be anything big; just small daily goals. Your goals might involve health, home, self-improvement or they can also be work-related- small goals facilitate progress. Setting big, ambitious goals is great, but focusing on accomplishing those smaller tasks, will keep you from feeling overwhelmed or disappointed when experiencing a setback. Break down your “big” goals into smaller ones and take baby steps. Ask yourself, “what can I do today, that will bring me closer to my goals?”  The best way to do this is to set up a list of priorities for the day, every morning. Keep the list of priorities short though, to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
It’s not enough to “set” those goals though. It’s not enough to create a list and say “hey look at all my goals, I’m killing it!” It’s not enough to write them down and talk about them for a little while. You do that, and you’ll end up going nowhere. You actually need to get to work.

KEEP A JOURNAL

To keep track of your progress, document your success- however small or big it might be, write down your goals, quotes that inspire you, things that you’re grateful for. When you’re trying to accomplish something, it doesn’t always come to you overnight. In fact, in almost never happens overnight.  Success is usually a result of hard, consistent work.
There will be days when you will feel discouraged and this is why keeping a journal is so important- writing down things that you’re grateful for is an instant mood booster. It’s easy to think “I will be happy when I get a better job” or “I will be happy when I finally start a family and settle down“, “I will be happy when my business finally takes off“- someone who lives with this kind of mindset will never truly be happy because there will always be another “I will be happy when…”  Of course, there is nothing wrong with wanting to do bigger, better things. BUT, at the same time, it’s easy to get caught up in that “race”. Keeping a journal will help you stay present and appreciate your life NOW.
Remember that changing habits is (almost never) easy. It’s a simple concept- take a habit, replace it with a new one- but it’s not easy. Don’t try to change everything at once- you’ll feel overwhelmed and frustrated.
What are some of your “big goals”? Can you identify any smaller objectives you can start working on today? What are some things that you’ve been putting off, forever? Getting your driver’s license? Changing jobs? Ending a messy relationship? Getting in shape? Reading more books?
Whatever your goals are, ask yourself, right now: “what can I do today, to get me closer to where I want to be?“

Keep showing up for your dreams

As a woman, the path you walk as you create your ideal life is not without its challenges.
As you become more and more successful, you have to let go of all the old, limiting beliefs you may have been taught as a child.
As you step into the truth that YES, you get to a woman and HAPPY - all at the same damn time, you have to drown out the voices of your inner critic AND the naysayers who say you're dreaming too big.
For instance, every person in your life is NOT going to be happy about your transformation.
Why is that?
Because once you start putting yourself first and making decisions based on what YOU want vs. what everyone else wants, you will need to set BOUNDARIES and start saying NO to some folks (even if they are related to you).
And yes, a few of them will react in a negative way.
They might say you've "changed."
They might try to "guilt trip" you.
They might even get mad at you and start crazy arguments.
But NONE of that means you should stop walking this new path.
Regardless of what THEY do, you keep doing YOU!
Keep showing up for your dreams, no matter what.

Your happiness depends on it.

Appreciating Life

Life has a purpose if we choose to find it and strive towards its fulfillment. But what of one’s demise? When the death of someone whom we hold dear comes too soon and unexpectedly, what purpose does it serve? What reason will satisfy those who are left behind?
Some live very long lives, while others inexplicably do not. What determines how long our lives will be?
We can choose to believe that all things are accidental and that death comes merely by chance. Men of science assert that everything is the result of entropy and chaos. Therefore, even our deaths are merely the product of random occurrence, uncertain and unpredictable.
However, believing this may prompt us to become obsessed with our safety and health. The sheer randomness of it all may make us so afraid that we are driven almost to the brink of paranoia.
On the other hand, we can choose to believe that death comes predetermined by some higher power. But if this is the case, will this not move us to question the wisdom of celestial justice? The unforeseen death of loved ones will often shake the foundations of our faith. It may even break it.
Therefore, the paradox is clear.
On the one hand, the absence of faith and the belief in the randomness of the universe frees us from the risk of spiritual anguish. But it renders both life and death meaningless. Having faith, on the other hand, comes with it the possibility of it being shattered by the pain of incomprehensible loss.
The one true conclusion we can arrive at is that life is precious no matter what we believe. And we must necessarily accept that all life comes to an endPsychology Articles, unexpectedly or not. Sorrow is but a natural consequence of losing someone close to us. And this should move us to appreciate and value more deeply the people around us especially those whom we hold dear.

The Goal Digging Workbook

If you're willing to do a little soul-searching by following the one-of-a-kind activities contained in this workbook, there's no reason why this year can't be the year you finally...get what you want!

If you're serious about making real change in your life then you're going to need an action plan to not only get you going but to keep you going when the going gets tough.
That's why I created my popular workbook, Goal Digging.

Since launching the workbook last year, I've been humbled by how many women it's helped! For instance, here's what reader Diana Lavender had to say:

"Girl! Can I just say, your book is AMAZING! I literally hear your voice throughout this entire piece. I'm currently reviving my company Lavender Ink Creative and I consider your workbook a priority piece in my arsenal of redevelopment tools. I've actually started recommending this book as a great starting point to just get their ideas on paper. This book really helped me with getting out of my own way and getting ideas, dreams, and thoughts on paper. I want to be an entrepreneur but the idea just seemed too overwhelming, (I thought) it was easier to be miserable at a job than invest in myself. It also gave me a really great action plan and I loved how it broke things down from large goals to small, edible BITES."

If you’re really serious about getting what you want and finally experiencing a breakthrough in your life, then this is the ideal first step.

Why Women Lie to Themselves

By Joanae - Naetorious.com

Joanae says there are 3 reasons why even seemingly happy women lie to themselves and RUIN their love life, friendships, lose sanity and MORE.
Old Scars: (failures/memories)
On the outside, she can accept praise, and even boast about ‘said accomplishment’. In actuality, the woman is harboring old scars. Hurt and pain from her past that makes her feel obsolete with the present.
This is such a popular cover.
Accepting what others think is great about the wins of this woman, and totally ignoring her suppressed frustration will have her living the ultimate lie.
Facing fears and past hurt is just not as easy to do.
As a solution, many women hide behind their accomplishments to avoid dealing with their demons.
Detached from Within:
The inability to become one with herself begins to overpower her desire to ever be better internally. These issues will, in fact, interfere with all aspects of life.
Intimate relationships, for example. I've always wondered why it was easy for some women to accept less than what they deserve when it came down to men.
A man can lie, cheat, steal, and degrade her…. Yet they still stay.
Comparing Themselves to Others:
When it's impossible for an individual to process the FACT that she was born to be great, the next step is usually impersonation. Yet, another lie.
You're clearly not good enough, (in your eyes), so you constantly attempt to become someone else.

In no way am I saying you can't admire the next Queen, but to think the only way that you will be noticed or valued is to mimic her presence is a lie that you or anyone else should need.

This is why you're broke

By Kristin - DebtFreeBlackgirl.com

Why You're Broke
According to Kristin they're 6 SHIFTS you have to make to prepare for a life of debt free and abundance.
  • Poverty mindset: This is what may be keeping you broke and impoverished. If you possess a poverty state of mind, then you’re thinking, feeling, and behaving based off of what you don’t have. You worry about what you are lacking instead of being grateful for what you do.
  • Shift to prosperity mindset: I want to share with you 6 ways that you can break free from a poverty mindset and start shifting into prosperity, peace, happiness, and freedom. Because you have started to recognize how your mindset plays into your financial situation and other areas of your life, you can now start working on putting these actionable steps to good use.
  • Take out the trash: If you really want to see change happen in your life, then you’re going to have to do some spring cleaning. You know Negative Nancy and Debbie Downer that you’ve been hanging with? It’s time to get rid of them. You are the company you keep, and believe it or not, the people we hang around have an influence on how we think and behave
  • Fake it til you make it: In order to get to where you want to be, you’re going to have to do a little faking. You know how earlier I said that I started speaking positively, even when my finances were still a complete wreck? Yep, you have to speak on what it is that you want. You have to believe that you deserve more out of life than what you’ve had up until this point. You have to be confident in your ability to become prosperous.
  • Get Educated: One of the main reasons why people struggle so much with their finances is because they don’t take the time out to educate themselves and increase their financial literacy. Having the knowledge you need to make wiser financial decisions makes all the difference. A lot of people weren’t taught this stuff at an early age, but you can’t keep using that as an excuse bruh.
  • Set the Right Goals: How many times have you set goals only to forget about them almost instantly? If the goals that you set don’t push you to actually take action on achieving those goals, then you don’t have the right goals. Your goals (larger ones) should create a clear vision for you and outline what it’s going to take for you to get there (smaller ones).
  • Recognize Power and Control and Accept Responsibility: You have to stop blaming everyone for your actions and recognize that you are in control of what happens in your life.
  • Stop Spending All of Your Money: I know it may be hard, but it’s as simple as this: stop spending everything that you have. It doesn’t matter if you’re making $20K or $500K per year, if you don’t know how to manage your finances and save, you will never be able to build wealth. It’s not about how much you make, but about how much you keep.
