Go-Giver
By Denisha Cole
I never want to leave someone, without giving them some love. God is love, He displays so many times throughout Scripture, Him giving out of love even in our disobedience. He demonstrated great love for us, when He gave His Only Son Jesus, so that we be reconciled to Him. I believe that we were created to give and keep giving. He gave His Son, His Son turned around and gave up His life and even after that gave us the most important person on the earth now, the Holy Spirit. Now, that’s love! We have what we need, along with the Word of God to live a life, loving to give.
Giving shows our true priority as Kingdom citizen. We should have the attitude of, “as Jesus did, so will I.” The Kingdom way is far greater then the ways of the world. The world tell us to be go-getters, accumulating everything for ourselves, being a receiver and not a giver. We know that according to the Word, it is more blessed to give than receive(Acts 20:35). We have to live up to the standard of the Word. I believe the when we take the Word of God in it’s entirety and desire, apply and share it, it benefits not just us, but those that we come in contact with as well. The Word is powerful , it is living, it is life-changing and dynamic as it works. The Word helps us to come into the knowledge of who we are and who we are not.
We can give many good gifts, and grow out of them, no longer fit them, or the gift may have just been for that season. The greatest gift to give is the Word of God which displays His love, it is lasting, it endures through tough times, it doesn’t go stale and it keeps giving!
Love on someone today, with the Word of God!
Grace and Peace
